Bank of England: CHANGE in votes!

The Bank of England released the minutes of its July meeting. The members of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted on 2 things:

  1. Official bank rate – here the distribution of votes is unchanged: all MPC members want to keep the rate at the record low of 0.5%.
  2. Asset purchase facility – here comes the change: earlier 3 members wanted to increase the amount of bond purchases, now all want to keep APF unchanged.

The news is bullish for British pound. GBP/USD jumped to $1.5246 before easing to $1.5200.
