CFTC: USD longs increased

Here are the essentials of the latest Commitments of Traders (COT) report, released on July 19 by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for a week ended July 16.

The value of the dollar's net long position rose from $27.9B last week to $29.6B on a week ended July 16. The figure kept growing for a fourth week in a row.

EUR/USD. EUR net shorts contracted a bit from the last weeks high of 41K to 37K. 

 

GBP/USD. GBP net short positions kept growing for a fourth week in a row. 

 

USD/JPY. JPY net shorts kept increasing for a fourth consequtive week.

AUD/USD. AUD net shorts retested the 2013 low of 71 contract after a slight improvement on the previous week.

 

USD/CHF. CHF net shorts increased to 5K contracts.
