Swiss economic expectations keep growing
In April, the number one indicator of the economic sentiment of Switzerland, the ZEW-CS surged by 9 points, so currently it’s demonstrating up to 11 points. The given soar further widens the evident gap between the indicator’s current positive value and its negative territory, thus contributing to the trend observed last month.
Financial experts consider the current economic situation to be slightly more upbeat compared to that of the last month, when that reding was -0.1 points.
The ZEW-CS indicator traditionally reflects the expectations of the surveyed financial market analysts as for the country’s economic development for the period of six months. The indicator is calculated on a monthly basis. All the necessary calculations are carried out by the Mannheim Centre for European Economic Research in broad cooperation with Credit Suisse.
Meanwhile, economic expectations for Switzerland keep soaring for the second consecutive time since March this year.
As for the current economic situation in the country, most respondents don’t see any changes.
