CFTC: USD longs on a 7-month low
Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has finally released the Commitments of Traders (COT) report on Oct. 25. Data showed that the large currency speculators trimmed their long US dollar bets to the lowest level since February 2013 on a week ended Oct. 1.
The value of USD net long position dropped from $3.58 billion in the week ended Sept. 24. to $693 million in the week ended Oct. 1. The large non-commercial net positions for the euro, British pound sterling, Japanese yen, Swiss franc, Canadian, Australian and the New Zealand dollar showed weekly increases.
The release of weekly speculative positioning data has been delayed because of a partial shutdown of the U.S. government earlier this month.
