Peugeot and Dongfeng will develop electric vehicles
Dongfeng Motor and PSA Peugeot Citroen have officially announced that on Wednesday they signed an agreement to create a joint platform to build electric vehicles for the Peugeot, DS, Citroen and Dongfeng brands starting from 2019.
PSA added in its statement that Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile or DPCA for short intended to generate profit of more than RMP 100 billion Yuan or $15.4 billion by 2020, not to mention sustainable and profitable growth.
Following this promising two-year-old partnership, both carmakers have already made up their mind to develop an electric version of the common technology platform they’ve been designing since last year’s April.
The Common Modular Platform or simply e-CMP is expected to drastically speed up the worldwide development of both of their groups, while assisting them to reach their ambitious carbon objective set for 2020 as follows from the official statement of Carlos Tavares, PSA Chief Executive.
