Australian stocks climb up
On Wednesday, Australian stocks traded higher, as revenues in theTelecoms Services, Financials as well as Consumer Staples sectors pushed stocks up.
The S&P/ASX 200 ascended 0.36%.
Platinum Asset Management Ltd went up 11.17%, trading at 5.425, Coal Ltd gained 3.54%, trading at 2.340, while Flexigroup Ltd rose 3.46%, hitting 2.245. These were the best performers of the trading session on the S&P/ASX 200.
The worst performers of the trading session included Seven West Media Ltd with its 7.10% fall, Santos Ltd with its 5.65% decline and CYBG PLC, slumping 5.29%.
Sagging shares outclassed rising ones on the Australia Stock Exchange by 589 to 457, while 348 were intact.
Shares in Whitehaven Coal Ltd climbed up to 3-years peaks, rising 3.54% to 2.340.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, estimating the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, dipped 9.17% to 16.704.
The currency pair AUD/USD rose 0.20%, trading at 0.7480, while AUD/JPY ascended 0.55%, being worth 77.00.
