Gold prices slump in Asia following BOJ July minutes

On Tuesday, gold headed south as minutes from the BOJ’s July gathering showed an easing push and traders waited for the outcome of a debate between the two key candidates for president in America.

In New York, December delivery gold futures sank 0.21%, trading at $1,341.25 per troy ounce.

Overnight, gold swung between small revenues and losses during North America's trading session, staying close to a two-week peak as traders’ attention shifted from major banks to American politics ahead of the first American presidential debate.

With just approximately six weeks to go until the November 8 American presidential election, the market will shift its attention to the first of three televised American presidential debates Monday night.

The 90-minute debate will burst out later on Tuesday at Hofstra University, New York and Lester Holt of NBC News will be a moderator.

The previous week, the number one precious metal notched a weekly revenue of $31.50, or 2.34%, ,the best performance in nearly two months, after the Fed held off on soaring interest rates and scaled back the number of rate lifts it expects next year.
