Australian stocks ascend at close of trade

On Tuesday, Australian stocks traded higher after the close, as profits in the Energy, Resources as well as Metals & Mining sectors pushed shares higher.

The S&P/ASX 200 managed to earn up to 0.08%.

The best performers of the trading session on the S&P/ASX 200 were represented by Monadelphous Group Ltd, ascending 8.32%, Worleyparsons Ltd, adding 6.25% and Sims Metal Management Ltd rising 5.43%.

The worst performers included Estia Health Ltd, tumbling 5.88%, St Barbara Ltd, falling 5.45% and APN Outdoor Group Ltd descending 3.47%.

On the Australia Stock Exchange,falling stocks outperformed rising ones by 521 to 506, while 308 ended intact.

Stocks in Estia Health Ltd dropped to all time minimums, sagging 5.88% to 2.720.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, measuring the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, dipped 2.63% to 13.544.

The currency pair AUD/USD fell 0.6 2%, hitting 0.7561, while AUD/JPY descended 0.29% to 78.59.

The US Dollar Index acquired 0.12%, trading at 97.03.
