Australian shares edge up

On Thursday, Australian shares traded higher after the close, as profits in the Telecoms Services, Utilities as well as A-REITs sectors brought shares up.

The S&P/ASX 200 earned 0.20%.

The best performers were Ozforex Grp, Costa Group Holdings Ltd and APN Outdoor Group Ltd. They ascended 6.21%,5.78% and 5.21% respectively.     

As for the worst performers, we should mention Isentia Group Ltd, Platinum Asset Management Ltd and Syrah Res F. They tumbled 26.77%, 7.41% and 6.35% respectively.    

Dropping shares dared to outnumber growing ones on the Australia Stock Exchange by 573 to 479, while 291 ended intact.

Shares in Isentia Group Ltd sank to 52-week minimums, sagging 26.77%. Stocks in Syrah Res F dipped to 52-week minimums, descending 6.35% to 3.025.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which assesses the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, dropped 5.85% to 13.444.

The currency pair AUD/USD sank 0.01%, demonstrating 0.7478, while AUD/JPY dived 0.09%, trading at 81.52.
