Renzi’s last appeal to undecided voters ahead of the referendum

Yesterday Italian PM Mateo Renzi made an appeal to undecided voters in the countdown to the Italian constitutional referendum scheduled for December 4. He dedicated a rather lengthy Facebook Live session to those Italian citizens who have not yet decided.

Renzi’s arguments in favor of the reform:

  1. The reform would unleash the government from the need to ask an approval of Senate and end a “paralyzing ping-pong of legislation between two houses of parliament.
  2. Italians would save around 500 mln euros a year with this constitutional reform
  3. There is no change in the powers of the premier minister – the regime won’t be transformed into the authoritarian one.

"Yes...I will become more powerful. But you're going to be better off too."
